Description
Benfotiamine (S-benzoylthiamine-O-mono-phosphate) is a fat-soluble derivative of thiamin from the “allithiamine” family, offering greater bioavailability and physiological activity than standard thiamin. It helps maintain healthy cells in the presence of blood glucose, supports the control of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), and assists in normalizing cellular processes driven by glucose metabolites. By raising blood levels of thiamin pyrophosphate (TPP) the biologically active co-enzyme of thiamine benfotiamine activates transketolase, an important cellular enzyme that helps preserve normal glucose metabolic pathways.
